Bringing pets and people closer / Cats and kittens / Regular worming is essential

How regularly should you tell owners to worm their cats?

The European Scientific Counsel for Companion Animal Parasites (ESCCAP) recommends that cats are wormed every 3 months – at least four times a year * .

However, some younger cats and those whose lifestyle makes them more susceptible to infection – such as those that hunt a lot – may need more regular worming. More information about worming frequencies for kittens can be found on our Protecting Kittens page.
